Epila 808
73Epila 808 is the new laser hair removal system, a girl's dream come true or is it? Without having tried it myself, I can't offer a consumer review, however, I can tell you what the perks are and if you have already tried this product, please leave your review in the comment box at the end of this article.
The Epila Hair Removal System utilizes the same technology as qualified clinics; 808 nanometer wavelength diode laser.
This handheld device is swept over the skin, emitting laser light energy that is absorbed by melanin (pigment) which rapidly heats the hair follicle destroying the papillae.
The darker you are, the more melanin you produce, so it may take longer to get rid of the hair, however, fair skin people have much less pigment, making this tool ideal for home use.

Once the process is done, you can expect hair to start falling out within 2 months. Although this offers a nice solution to razor cuts and inflammation, it does come with some pain, however, it is tolerable, much like a rubber band snapping on the skin. For me, it's well worth it, but you may not feel this is right for you.
Side effects include redness and swelling. It is advisable to shield the treated area for a few days, especially from the sun. If it does bother, you can put an ice pack on to relieve some fo the discomfort. The Epila 808 comes with 3 light intensities and has passed stringent safety use by the CE. It is convenient and more than 80% effective.
This device has a hefty price tage, anywhere from $199 to $299, however, in my opnion, it is worth a try, even at that price. I hate shaving, I hate the problems that can occur from shaving and I hate throwing away non-biodegradable plastic in the landfill, plus it does save money in the long run, providing it works of course, so if you've tried this, please let us know!!!
You can buy the Epila 808 on Ebay for as little as $100, and that is where I am going to get mine!

I don't know if anyonw would know this but I am a darker skinned woman with very coarse hair. Even though my skin is slightly on the darker side my hair is quite dark and coarse so i feel this coul make it a little easier. If your skin is darker does that just mean that the there might be a decrease in effectiveness or that it could possibley harm your skin?
I just purchased it and received it yesterday and tried it on my left arm and leg. It definetly does hurt and it burns the hair which leaves an awful smell but I think if used correctly and exactly as stated this might just work. Of course it is time consuming but for me to save around $10000 for full body hair removal, n saving the time and embarrasment of having to go to a salon, I am more than happy to spend $200 and be patient with this product. Perhaps i'll be back here in a few months with a good review :)
I read the reviews at the Amazon web page, an even though they were very bad, I decided to buy it, big mistake. The Epila lacer hair remover just burned my skin, and did nothing what so ever to the unwanted hair... Don't make the same mistake as me, please don't buy it.
I'm a African American man, this device removed every hair bump on my face, and in some area the hair has been permanently removed. In time i truly believe all of my facial hairs will be permanently removed, the product works.
Hi Derrel, this is a question for you. With your hair and skin tone combination, did using the Epila hurt or burn your skin when you used it? I am an Indian woman with a wheatish (medium brown) skin tone - with extremely thick and coarse hair. I have had major problems with ingrowns with shaving and am losing patience with the amount of money i spend on waxing and creams :-( So, I have bought the Epila, despite some of the negative comments- Are there any special tips or tricks to using it on not-so-fair-skin?
Is there a hair removal clinic within the public sphere that is prepared to remove course dark facial hair WITHOUT taking financial advantage of the service user? The treatment is way too costly for average house holder which is me... so how am I to get this treatment without taking out a loan or re-morgaging my home?

I was excited at first, as my daughter has problems with this. But I think for now we will stick with the spa treatment. This sounds a bit untested... I look forward to responses from people who have tried it. Thanks for the information. This is a challenging issue in a society where beauty has definite requirements. Not always inner qualities, sadly.
