Skipping Mother’s Day isn’t an option. After all, Mom does so much and asks for so little in return. But when money is tight, finding the perfect gift can be a challenge.

Here are some budget friendly presents for mom that will let her know you appreciate all she’s done and will do in the years to come.

Gardening Mom

Gardening is not only relaxing but very rewarding. Many of us like to have something to call their own and a garden can do just that. A place where you can bear the fruits of your labor or enjoy the tranquility of nature at it's best.

1. Personalized Garden Stepping Stones – A set of stepping stones from all of her children, one that says “We love you”, and individual stones with each child’s name are a beautiful garden accent that she will treasure for years to come.

2. Personalized Garden Signs – Little signs with a personal message that will remind Mom she is loved every time she steps into the garden. Attach them to a stake for planting in the ground.

3. Garden Tool Box – A mailbox planted in the garden makes it easy to keep track of garden tools. No need to go back and forth to the shed!

4. Patio Planters – Why not go ahead and buy Mom that set of planters she’s been wanting? She will enjoy filling them with plants and flowers to dress up the patio or porch.

A Little Pampering Can Go A Long Way

Every mother deserves a little pampering now and then. Moms are so busy keeping everyone else happy they often forget to treat themselves. Give back by giving her a little bit of luxury.

5. Home Spa Gift Sets – A gift set with candles, bath salts, bath gel, body lotion and a loofah will always make Mom happy. Choose a scent she loves, and let her have a little get away time at home. Include a handmade door sign that says keep out or whatever saying you feel is perfect.

6. Spa Treatments– Treat Mom to a day at the spa, or let her choose her own spa treatment. Moms can always use a little pampering. A massage, foot spa or manicure. These treatments are rejuvenating and relaxing. If this is still out of reach financially, give her a spa at home. Offer to do her nails, give her a mask or a shoulder rub. Be creative.

7. Dinner on the House - Every Mom can use a day off from cooking. Plan a special dinner, hire a caterer or take her out for a meal at her favorite restaurant.

Keepsakes for Mom

Personal keepsakes are always a hit with mom. Let your creativity guide the way to a gift she`ll always cherish.

8. Family Portrait – Hire a photographer and have a family portrait taken. Have it framed and ready to hang.

9. Family Yearbook – Organize photos from the past year; upload them to a photo website and create a personalized family yearbook with captions and special notes for Mom.

10. Personalized Gift Mugs – Have a photo and special message printed on a mug and fill it with Mom’s favorite chocolates and treats. Include some gourmet coffees or teas to make it even more special.

Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be expensive. What matters most is that you remember. Whatever you do, you can be sure of one thing-she will love it.

  • TV Sitcom Moms Some Of My Favorites

Brett Butler, Patricia Richardson, Lucille Ball, and Elizabeth Montgomery, have all played the role of mothers on TV sitcoms. - 14 months ago

  • And I will always Love you - a Memory

There is a song that reminds me of my mother. The song that usually makes me cry hopelessly, every time I hear it on the radio. I have it on my iTunes playlist and as I scroll past the song title, I hesitate to click , knowing very well I am going to be heavy with grief, choked with emotion and generally make a spectacle of myself. - 14 months ago

  • Poem: My First Mother's Day | Tasting New Love as her Mom

Even though I had about a month to sort through the blankets, one-sies, diapers of all sizes, and the like before the big day arrived, I still had no clue really what was about to happen in my life especially to my heart. - 14 months ago

Thanks for the comments, as u can see from my hubs I'm always trying to find ways to create gifts that are thoughtful and easy on the budget. I will be writing a hub on how to make stepping stones for the garden that little kids can do as well, sort like mud pies, lol!
